After a long, full life, Bert Eggstrom passed away peacefully on March 31, 2013, at age 95. A longtime resident of Duvall, WA, Bert was born in Stockholm, Sweden on July 19, 1917. At the age of 4, he and his mother, Anna Marta Hokansdotter-Berg, traveled on a steamship to America. From New York, they traveled by train and settled in Duvall where his grandfather lived. After retiring from Sheet Metal Workers Union 66, Bert immensely enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and traveling with Jennette, especially wintering in Palm Springs. He loved being involved in Duvall and the Historical Society. In his retirement he spent many hours building models that were often put on display in town for all to see. He was delighted to be a great grandfather six times over. Bert is survived by his wife Betty, who brought additional joy to his life, his children and their families.
