It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Bernice Barrat, age 98. Bernice, also known to her friends and family as “Bunda”, was born in Seattle, Washington on OCTOBER 21, 1921. She was one of 6 children born to Polish immigrants who settled in Seattle. Bernice attended Garfield High School where she met the love of her life, Eddie Barrat. Bernice and Eddie were an amazing team always spreading LOVE, HAPPINESS and most importantly, GRACE. Eddie and Bernice danced together both on the dance floor as well as in life. Love and compassion were the foundation of their lives together. It was important to have all of the family together for the holidays and it was at these gatherings where not only did we have the best meals, but it was the family time that everyone will remember. They were also the ones who had the best jokes. Was it Bernice or Eddie? You’ll have to decide that one! All the trips around world together and especially those trips to Las Vegas had the adventure the likes of a Frank Sinatra love song.
Bernice joins her best friend Eddie, and the Heavens are celebrating these two being together once again. Bernice is survived by her daughter Pamela & Bob Gordon; her son Steven & Hedy Barrat. Grandchildren Adam Gordon, Todd & Rebecca Gordon, Molly & Kolten Miller. Dean Barrat, Nicholas Barrat & Tal Lev, Nichole & Ben Reinhardsen. And especially the 6 GREAT Grandchildren did she adore: Barrett, Rainier, Shai, Yaniv, Layla, Naomi. She is further mourned by many nieces, nephews, and friends too many to list.
Bernice, Mom, Grandma Bunda, Momma Bear, we all want to thank you for being the absolute best we could have ever had. We all will miss you and we will never forget the love you had for us all. You and Grandpa live on in each of us and we are all so lucky to have you two as the foundation of our lives. We love you both so much and forever will.
Remembrances can be made to Kline Galland, Temple De Hirsch or any charity of your choice.
