I flew with Ben many times to the Far East. He was always a polite, funny , easy going Captain and instructor.  

The day of the big earthquake in Japan we were supposed to have flown to Hawaii from Narita. We were shaken out of our beds as well as the hundreds of other KLM and Delta crew members . After two hours outside the still shaking  hotel Ben made a  command decision , he popped a beer and said “We’re not going anywhere today “.  😎  The tension was broken.    

God was looking over us that fateful  day. Rest In Peace Ben ! 

Sending my love and condolences to the family. Especially Annika and Ally, who lost their Dad much too soon. I cherish the memories I have with Ben. He will forever be in my heart.
