Born on November 27, 1920 in Kerteminde, Denmark. He was the oldest of ten children. He immigrated to the United States in 1950 and moved to Seattle in 1952. He married a nurse, Eva Dreyer, of Bergen Norway in 1953 and had two daughters. He worked in landscaping and construction, building many fine homes in the Puget Sound region. Bendt joined Eva in heaven on March 31, 2002. He is survived by daughters Susan Kelley and Lisa Meins and grandchildren Brent and Alexa Meins. A memorial service will be held 2PM Friday April 6th at the Norse Home Social Hall 5311 Phinney Ave N, Seattle. The family requests that in lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Norse Home where Bendt enjoyed his last years.
