He married the love of his life June E. Carr on June 23, 1956. They were married for 58 years, before June’s passing in 2015. They lived in Minnesota for several years and in 1962 they made a major decision to move to Washington State in search of better job opportunities. They brought with them their 3 young daughters (Debbie, Connie, and Sonja) and settled in Kent, WA. The family grew in 1963 with the birth of their first son Paul. And with more children came the need for a bigger home, in 1966 Arlo and June bought their first home in Federal Way. Arlo and June were blessed two more children, 1967 Jayne and 1969 James. In 1974 Arlo's farming blood reappeared when he and June bought a 2-acre hobby farm in Milton. Arlo loved raising chickens, rabbits, pigs, and beef cattle. As a family going to church on Sunday, family dinners, camping, fishing, vegetable gardening and taking trips to visit family in Minnesota kept us busy.
As Arlo and June’s children grew and left home, they continued to go fishing, camping, and traveling. Some of their favorite trips were to Alaska , California, and Arizona. Family time/dinners were one of Arlo’s favorite activities in his life. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all his heart.
