Alice was born to Ole and Julia Ferguson in January 1923 on a farm in Canby, Minnesota, the twelfth child of thirteen.
Determined to be a Navy Wave in WWII, Alice enlisted at age 20.
Was a dedicated preschool teacher of art, math and science at the Ruth Prins (Wunda Wunda) Preschool in Magnolia and then taught with Carolyn Montgomery.
Loved music, literature and plays as well as proud of her Norwegian heritage.
As a lifelong democrat, she read about current politics and watched msnbc daily.
Preceded in death by beloved husband of 60 years, Mamoru “Mike” Takashima; daughter, Dail Adams; son-in-law John Estes; and siblings: Ted, Ted, Olga, Herb, Wilma, Omar, Kermit, Norman, Lawrence, Robert, George, Paul, Betty.
She is survived by daughters, Jane Estes, Thailand, and Jeannette Takashima (Art), Seattle, and son, Paul Takashima, Burien; granddaughter, Jennifer (Nathan), Singapore and great-grandson, Rowan.
