Alexander "Alex" Dean Lewis

Alexander Dean Lewis, age 21, of Bothell, Washington passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023. Alex was born in Seattle, Washington on May 26, 2002. He spent his early childhood years in Edmonds before his family moved to Bothell in 2008. Alex attended Maywood Hills Elementary, Canyon Park Junior High, and Bothell High and graduated in 2020. After spending his freshman year at Gonzaga University in Spokane during the pandemic, he returned to Bothell and attended Cascadia College.

Alex’s first job was working at Sparta’s Pizza while in high school. He later worked at the Northshore YMCA as a kid’s counselor in the before and after school program and as a youth sports referee. Alex’s passion for sports included playing soccer and basketball, cheering on his favorite NBA and NFL teams, and entertaining his online community as an eSports announcer. His warm smile, kind heart, and sense of humor will forever be remembered by his friends and family.

Alex is survived by his father Jeff and mother Tina and younger brother Damon, his grandparents Gus and Gregoria Dounis, his uncle and aunt James and Jodi Dounis and cousin Kosta, his uncle and aunt Mike and Traci Lewis and cousins T.J., Kyle, and Sean, and uncle and aunt Doug and Suzanne.

In lieu of flowers, to honor Alex’s legacy in our community, gifts, and donations made in his honor will go to the Northshore YMCA in support of local families. The Northshore YMCA was where Alex worked, where he played youth sports, and where he stayed in the before and after school program as a student at Maywood Hills. We know a lot of lower income families rely on donations to subsidize their fees so gifts in his honor would be a very meaningful gesture to our family in his memory. A funeral for Alexander will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St Demetrios Greek Orthodox, 2100 Boyer Ave E, Seattle, WA 98112. Following the funeral will be a graveside at 2:00 PM at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home & Cemetery, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, Washington 98133.
