Sal’s Grandfather, Salvatore Gianino immigrated from Sicily to Monterey Peninsula in the 1800’s, and was a Shrimp Fisherman and the first to hand make shrimp nets for other fishermen.
Salvatore was born in San Francisco and the family moved back to the Monterey peninsula when he was six.
Sal worked as an Electrician for Bruno Electric for over 30-years. A dedicated employee who was well received and respected by his peers within the trade and community.
Sal enjoyed spending quality time with his son, playing a good game of chess, loved scenic drives along the coast of Big Sur. He was a history buff, who loved war movies, 80’s Rock music, a collector of books and was an avid reader.

Sal is preceded in death by his Nono Salvatore and Nona Domenica Gianino, and his parents Filippo and Amelia Gianino. He is survived by his son, Philip Salvatore Gianino, sister, Domenica “Fran” Gianino and nephews, Les and Antonio Flores.
