Born March 8, 1930 in Texas, He was one of five children, three girls and two boys. He was a resident of Seaside for 55 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Monterey Peninsula School District.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eula Mae Chaney, and his sister Alice Joseph.
Charles is survived by his son, Robert Charles Johnson of Houston, Texas; his daughter, Arlene Blandon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother, Gabe Chaney of Seaside; two sisters, Lula Helen Anderson of Lawton, Oklahoma and Will Mae Banks of Seaside, California; a cousin, Billie Jo Dupree of Las Vegas, Nevada, and a host of nieces, nephews, and a large number of immediate family and friends.
