Betty Sue Weatherford Dalton passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 24, 2017. She was born on May 23, 1940 in Danville, Virginia to Herbert Weatherford and Libby Farmer Weatherford. Betty was proud of her southern heritage, but loved to call the West Coast home. Betty was raised in a loving family. She loved to share fond memories of her family times in Virginia. Although thousands of miles separated Betty from her siblings, she remained in close contact.
Betty was married on June 6, 1959 at the Congregational-Christian Church in Danville, Virginia. Her marriage to a man in military service brought her across the nation to the West Coast. Although her marriage ended in 1970, Betty continued to embrace life and her two young sons. As a divorced woman with two young boys, she returned to California to raise her family. Betty was a wonderful provider for her two boys. She always made sure that they had all they needed to live a healthy, full and productive lives.
Betty worked as an employee at Economy Cleaners for over 38 years. She was a devoted and loyal employee. She was held in high regard by her fellow employees and is loved by all who knew her. She worked as a healthcare provider at St. Francis Convalescent Home.
As a mother and grandmother, she actively participated in fun activities and outings with her sons and grandchildren. Betty loved to cook and collect recipes. Betty loved good food and socializing, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. Betty was one of a kind. She was an avid reader, and was the best at using strategy and extreme couponing to maximize a return on her investment.
Betty is survived by her eldest son Wayne, daughter-in-law Jennifer Ramras Dalton, and youngest son Tony Dalton, grandchildren Carmella Toce, Nathaniel Dalton and Hailey Dalton, and sister Frances Wilson and brother Herbert Weatherford of Danville, Virginia.
