Man, this really made my heart fall when I heard this. Although I only knew him for a brief time, he was always positive and smiling...that's how I'll remember him.  R.I.P. Lieutenant

It can be hard to face the days ahead without your loved one, but with the help of family, friends and God the days will become loving memories. All my love to you Michelle.

Bill`s Dad's family back in Illinois has been devastated by the news of his loss. We had heard of his marriage and heard the happiness in his on-line postings. Bill's boys and new family will be in our hearts and prayers.

 May God bless your family and comfort them during this time of sorrow.

Bill/Billy, you will always be that 10 yr. old on Hartmann Dr. in Schaumburg,Il, riding down the street on that red bike yelling "come and get me"! Our families bonds run deep. The birthdays, graduations, Halloweens, and of course those annoying 4th of July's when you just could'nt stop with the FIREWORKS! 

May your family and many friends know your are always with them.

Billy, as we still called you, touched our lives in many ways as you traveled at warp speed through life. With your unlimited energy you did many things.  Beekeeper, wood worker, birdhouse builder, world traveler as you kept in touch with your many friends. 
 You were helpful as you took down trees for me, even though I couldn't watch you wielding the chainsaw and wondering where those trees were going to land. You weren't afraid to tackle anything. And I might say, you never let a time zone get in your way. I'll even miss those late night calls asking how to make cream of broccoli soup, as if it were the most normal thing to be calling for a recipe at that time of night.
We will miss you, but I'm sure you're being welcomed by many loved ones.  Love, Aunt Marla

I'd only known Lt. Ryter for 2 weeks, but it seemed as if Id known him for years. He had such a wonderful personality, & he always kept a smile on his face. He was like a much needed breath of fresh air here at the Institution, & he will be missed.
My prayers are for comfort, strength, & peace for his family during this most difficult time. May he forever rest in peace.

May God continue to walk with you during your time of sorrow. May God give you strength in your time of weakness and comfort in your time of sorrow. Although we don't understand the whys... there are two things I do know for sure. Your Dad loved his sons very much and he was so very proud of both of you. Take all the good that your Dad was and let that be a part of your lives. And, should you be blessed with children of your own some day, take all that goodness and pass it on to them.

I will never forget how excited Bill was when he showed me his Wedding Ring the first time I saw him after your Wedding. He had the biggest smile I ever saw on him. Anyone could see how happy you and his kids made him. . 
Bill, I always remember how much I looked forward to our conversations because we always were able to laugh, A person couldn't ask for a better Friend, or Partner, you always had my utmost Respect.
