Shirley Louise Massie, 81, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family, on January 18, 2018. She was born on August 10, 1936 to James Lloyd and Doris Agnes (Martin) Clark in Dallas, TX.
Shirley was a 1954 graduate of Seagoville High School and attended Eastfield College. She was a homemaker until her youngest child graduated high school, and then began a career with the Dallas Independent School District for over 20 years as a teacher’s aide. Shirley was the sweetest lady you could have ever possibly known and was the epitome of a virtuous woman as described in Proverbs 31. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and she truly loved her Lord. Shirley was not afraid or shy about professing her faith in Christ and repeatedly blessed those that came to minister to her. Her family was her greatest pleasure in life and she has left a legacy of that love that is obviously apparent to anyone that meets her decendants.
Preceding her in death are her parents Lloyd and Doris Clark, husband of 56 years Harold Massie and son David Massie.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Paul Massie (Pam) of Seagoville, Dennis Massie of San Diego, CA, Teri Gant of Seagoville, June Stone of Seagoville and Susan Hardie (Curtis) of McIntyre, GA; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Londa Jean Whitley (John); brother-in-law Kenneth Massie (Joyce) and daughter-in-law Michele Massie Fetsch (Rick) and a host of extended family members and friends that will miss her dearly.
