Michael was born in Denton, Texas to Dana Christine Burrus and John Michael Lobdell. He grew up primarily around the DFW area, mostly in Mesquite. Michael also spent a portion of his childhood living in Mississippi.
Michael's greatest accomplishments were his daughter, Savannah, and the career he built, following in his father's footsteps in the concrete and cement industry. He began his career alongside his father at Nelson Brother's Ready Mix where he worked for 7 years. He started as a mixer driver before working his way up to being the batchman and plant floor manager. He was able to take an opportunity to continue his work in the industry at Wildcatter Holdings LLC where he was also a plant manager prior to his illness.
When not working or spending time with family, Michael was a devoted sports fan, cheering on the Dallas Mavs and Cowboys. He was an avid fisherman and could regularly be found out at a dirt racing track with his best friend JR, excited to be around the action whether it was in the pit or from the stands,
Michael is survived by his daughter Savannah Rae Lobdell; his father John Lobdell and his stepmother Sheila Lobdell of Rowlett, Texas; his sisters Sally "scooter" Chapin and husband Jason Chapin of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Mistie Oliver and husband Rodney Oliver of Kemp, Texas, Britney Bryan and husband Zack Bryan of Gun Barrel City, Texas and his sister Lacie Baird of Dallas, Texas.
