Mary was born on November 12, 1944 in Edinburg, Texas, where she lived and met her loving husband of 55 years. Seagoville became her home for 48 years where her children knew her as the best mom but everyone else in the community knew her as “Momma Mary” or Mrs. Gonzalez. Anywhere she went, she was guaranteed to run into somebody she knew.
Mary had a heart of gold and lived her life serving others. She always helped family, friends, neighbors and anyone in need. She volunteered in Dallas Independent School District and loved working as an ESL aide at Kleberg Elementary School, where she had a positive impact on children for several years.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Jim; son, Rick and his wife, Shannon; daughter, Dina and her husband, Richard; and brothers, Gilbert Ayala and Jesse Ayala. She also leaves her grandchildren to cherish her memory, Chris Works, Anthony Villareal, Michael Villareal and Adriana Gonzalez; and great grandchildren, Ayzlee Works, Saydee Works, Macyee Works and Isaac Villareal; and her sidekick furbaby, Spanky.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Francis Ayala; brothers Jose Ayala and Jose Luis Ayala; and great granddaughter, Krisleigh Works.
She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
