Born on November 20, 1950, in Terrell, Texas, Linda was a shining light in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
Linda grew up in Seagoville, Texas, where she was raised by her devoted parents, Joe and Edith Riley. As a child, she shared countless adventures with her siblings and formed memories that would last a lifetime. She graduated from Seagoville High School in 1969 and went on to have a fulfilling career that reflected her passion for helping others.
Linda dedicated a significant part of her life to public service as an investigator with the Internal Revenue Service, a role that took her to Midland, Texas. During her time in Midland, she embraced the opportunity to give back to her community by becoming involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. The bond she formed with her "little sister" was a testament to her caring nature, and they maintained their relationship even after Linda returned to the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Upon her return, Linda continued her commitment to service by becoming a 911 dispatcher. This role allowed her to be a vital support system for her community, where she was known for her calm demeanor and unwavering dedication. Throughout her life, Linda remained closely connected to her family and friends, nurturing those relationships with love and devotion.
Linda had a zest for life and loved to travel, often sharing her adventures with her niece and nephews. The trips they took together became cherished memories, filled with laughter and joy that they will carry with them forever.
Linda leaves behind her brother, Ronald Joe Riley of Forney, Texas; her nephew, Chad Riley, and his wife, Lanie, also of Forney; her niece, Tricia Anderson, and her husband, Danny Jr, of Mabank, Texas; her nephew, Bo Robertson of Crandall, Texas; as well as her great nieces, Chelsie, Camryn, Carsyn, and Hallie; and great nephews, Hunter and Hayden. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Edith Riley, and her sister, Carolyn Robertson, all of Seagoville, Texas.
A visitation and celebration of Linda's life will be held at 10 AM on October 25, 2024, at Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville.
