Judy grew up in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood of Dallas and attended Spruce High School. While still a teen, she met Donny Spencer. The two married on June 8, 1973, and proceeded to have three wonderful children.
In the early 90's Judy overcame the unthinkable. She suffered from a ruptured brain aneurysm, causing her to clinically die more than once, multiple surgeries, and resulting in a long recovery. God preformed a miracle on her.
After her miraculous recovery, Judy and Donny separated in 1995, while continuing to work together to raise their kids. After a few missed attempts at finding love, Judy met Robert Fondren. Judy and Robert got married on June 25, 2003, and from this marriage, she gained two bonus daughters. The two spent nearly 15 years together until his sudden passing in 2018.
Judy lived a simple life, but those who knew her were aware she was a feisty little firecracker. She was always moving, always on the go which was perfect for keeping up with her grandkids. She kept busy around the house cleaning, cooking, decorating for every single holiday and she collected all kinds of nicknacks. She enjoyed spending time outside, fishing with her son, gardening, and working in her yard. To fuel her running around, she would always be found with her coffee, or a Dr. Pepper and she was always listening to the radio, particularly the country music station.
Judy is survived by her children, Brandi "Big Britches" Spencer-Smith and husband Terry, Heather "HEH" Spencer-Sonntag and husband Jeff, and Donald Spencer Jr. “Bubba”, her bonus kids, Crystal Fondren-Martin and Delany Fondren-Crain; grandchildren, Bentley Smith, Wesley Sonntag, Cheyenne Garner, Ayla Lemmons, and Gunner Crain.
She is also survived by her sister, Doris Isham; in-laws, Santos Lozano, Peggy and Butch Norris, Sammy and Kim Spencer, and Connie Bruner; her nieces and nephews, Kim Williams, Lisa McGary, Terry McGary, Claudia Isham, Tina Isham, Bubba Isham, Hector Lozano, and Janie Lozano along with many loving friends and extended family.
Judy was preceded in death by her Parents, Bessie Louise Loller, and Clovis Odell McGary; grandparents, Jewel and Jessie Loller and Johnnie and Mary McGary; the father of her children, Donald Spencer Sr; Her husband, Robert E. Fondren; siblings, Lou Lozano and Marvin McGary; Son-in-law, Brad Martin, and great-nephew, Cody Williams.
