Joyce Adele (Foster) Smith, 75, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2015 at her home in Seagoville, TX. She was born on August 5, 1940 to Benjamin and Eula Pauline (Patman) Foster in Dallas, TX. Joyce was a graduate of Seagoville High School and retired from working at DISD after 17 years. She was the family photographer and always had a camera in her hands, we know that she’s standing at the gates of Heaven with her camera, waiting on her loved ones to join her. Joyce, affectionately known as Memaw to the grandchildren, was a very sweet spirited, selfless and gentle woman. She was a “giver” and cared for others, her family was her life and they will hold her in their hearts forever. Preceding her in death are her parents and brother, Donald Foster. Those left to cherish her memory are her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 55 years, Curtis Leon Smith; children: David Leon Smith and wife, Tammy of Kaufman, TX, Shari Welch and husband, Rhett of Crandall, TX and Laurie Clary and husband, Calvin of Combine, TX; grandchildren: Mandy, Rachel, Jordan, Russell, Ashley, Kirby, Brian and Kaci; great-grandchildren: Ryley, Abigail, Levi and two more expected in November and April; siblings: Skip Greathouse and wife, Margie and Kyle Greathouse; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and a host of friends that will miss her dearly. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home followed by interment at Wilson Chapel Cemetery in Kaufman, TX.
