Gayla Jones

Gayla June Jones, 68, passed away at her home in Lancaster, TX on October 21, 2015. She was born to Herbert and Retha (Keck) Morgan, Sr. on September 26, 1947 in Gillette, Wyoming. Gayla will be remembered for her beautiful smile and her love of people. She enjoyed working in her backyard and spoiling her two schnauzers, Rock Star and Piper. Gayla was always smiling and always happy and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her husband, Jesse. Having grown up in Wyoming, Gayla enjoyed taking trips back to visit, often taking her mother, mother-in-law or Jesse with her to also enjoy what she had always loved. Preceding her in death are her parents and brother, Herbert Morgan, Jr. Those left to cherish her memory are her best friend and husband of almost 22 years, Jesse Jones; mother-in-law Carole Jones; step-daughter Chassity Jones; step-grandchildren Jessi, Riah and Taime; sister-in-law Lisa Retta and brother-in-law Mike Jones; and a host of cousins and friends that will miss her dearly. Gayla’s wishes were that no formal funeral services be held and Jesse will honor that request by scattering her ashes at her beloved Yellowstone National Park.
