Charles Levi Watson, age 87, of Tyler, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2023. He will always be remembered as a kind, gentle and soft spoken man to all that knew and loved him. He was born on March 4, 1935 in Rockwall, TX to Leonard & Mary Watson.
Charles served in the Army from 1957-1959 and the Army Reserve from 1959-1963. He proudly retired in 1991 from Mobil Oil Headquarters, Dallas, TX after 38 years. He liked reading and keeping current with events and politics. He was a lover of country music and old gospel. He liked to travel and loved to visit family. He was lovingly known as “Pops” to many.
Charles is survived by his son, Robert Lee Watson (Kenda Watson), his stepdaughter, Terrie Self Melton, his brothers, Larry Watson and James Watson, and sister Frances Watson, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard & Mary Watson. His wife of 48 years, Auley Watson, his stepdaughter Sherry Self Francis and his sister Mary McPherson.
The visitation will be held from 1 o’clock p.m. - 2 o’clock p.m. on February 25, 2023 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel in Seagoville, Tx. The Funeral Service will be immediately following at 2 o’clock p.m. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
