B. J. Bass was born to Ben and Willie Bass. He was devoted to his Lord and Savior, wife, and his family.
B. J. was a member of Prairie Creek Baptist Church for 67 years. There he served as a Sunday School teacher, Boys Brigade leader, Camp Counselor, trustee and deacon.
He was employed by Dallas Power & Light / TXU Dallas Division where he retired after 40 years of service.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, working with his hands and farming.
B. J. had a great sense of humor. One of his favorite past times was telling his life stories and laughing with all that would sit and listen to what he had to share. He was a practical joker and loved aggravating anyone that crossed his path.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Peggy, his three children and spouses, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and one on the way, his sister Joyce and brother Toby and his sister in law Murleen.
B. J. is preceded in death by 2 son in laws, 3 grandchildren, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Prairie Creek Baptist Church with committal to follow in his home town of Athens, TX, see below for details.
