Wanda Carroll White was born on September 15, 1949, in Teachey (Wallace) North Carolina—Duplin County, Route 1. She often joked it was “just a dirt road,” but from that humble path came a legacy of strength and love. Wanda was the youngest of four children born to her devoted parents, Hattie Gertrude White and Willie Hayes. She followed her siblings Bobby, Sandra, and Kenneth, each of whom shared in the deep bond of family that defined their lives.
Wanda transitioned peacefully on April 4, 2025, surrounded by love. She leaves to cherish and honor her memory her three children—Marcus, Yolanda, and Carlton—as well as her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and hearty extended family and dear friends.
Whether it was planting a garden or nurturing her family, Wanda had a gift for helping things grow. Her hands were often in the soil, planting flowers, plants and cactus with care, and her heart was always open—offering meals, companionship, wisdom, and laughter to anyone in need. Always modeling, never too late, mama opened a business in 2024, Soulful Interior Designs. Most of the jewelry she wore and shared, she made. Not to mention every home she occupied was a castle
She was a masterful cook, known for satisfying any taste bud and never shy about enjoying her favorite dishes. She lovingly referred to herself as “Eat Ums”—a title she wore proudly as a true food aficionado.
Her sense of humor was unmatched. With quick wit and a contagious belly laugh, Wanda could light up any room. She treasured a good joke, shared stories with flair, and brought joy wherever she went.
Wanda’s life was rich with love, laughter, and generosity. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched—and in the many lives she helped bloom.
A celebration of life for Wanda will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona 85257.
