Born on April 18, 1946, in Tucson, Arizona, she was the daughter of the late Deola and Richard M Kent.
Sandi is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ray Lord; one daughter Shannon Lord Matheson, husband Ken, and two grandchildren Kyle and Gavin all of Mesa, AZ; one sister RuthAnn Grace, husband Phil, and three nieces; one brother John Kent, wife Susan, and two nieces.
Sandi was admired by many as a talented businesswoman and statewide leader in the travel business. Her career in the travel industry began in Tucson where she became part owner of Far West Travel and served as President for over 20 years. After the sale of Far West, she took a position with Bon Voyage Travel where she was the CFO for the past 25 years. Sandi will be truly missed by her many co-workers.
Sandi’s family meant everything to her. She loved being Mema to her two grandsons. Sandi also enjoyed an occasional visit to the slots and drinking ice cold Corona light beer.
A native of Tucson and graduate of Tucson High School, Sandi attended the University of Arizona and was a member of the Quadrille Team and Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. While attending the U of A, she met the love of her life Ray and was married in Kelly, Wyoming in June of 1966.
Sandi loved spending time in Puerto Vallerta, Mexico. Here she shared her love of the culture with family and friends. Her passion for Mariachi music and Mexican food lasted a lifetime.
