Ruth K. Hightower

Ruth E. Hightower (3/26/1927 – 6/14/2012) was born in Baltimore Ohio to Alice Eleanor Kohler and Stanley Forest Kohler. Ruth was married to Jim Hightower in 1952 and moved to Tempe Arizona. In January 2012 they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Ruth is survived by her husband Jim Hightower, her sister Lois Hanna, and 11 nieces and nephews. Ruth and Jim started Jims TV Service where she was manager, bookkeeper, and known to repair TVs. In her early years in Arizona, Ruth was the Social Chairman and Wedding Coordinator at the First Baptist Church of Tempe. Ruth received her real estate license and was a bookkeeper for a property manager. Ruth brought joy through the beautiful things she created. She was an artist and painter and annually hand made Christmas cards for the 150+ people on her ‘favorite’ list. She loved the outdoors, fall colors in Ohio, the ocean, sailboats, and lighthouses. A celebration service will be held at Green Acres Memorial Chapel at 401 N. Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85257 on June 20th at 2:30pm and a viewing will be held at Green Acres on June 19, 2012 from 5pm-7pm.
