Richard Barnes Jones

Richard B. Jones, 89, passed away June2, 2023, in Scottsdale, AZ, having spent most of his life in Michigan (Ann Arbor and Lake Angelus) and Tucson. He was born in Detroit, MI, on April 19. 1934. He attended Cranbrook School and received his B.S in Electrical Engineering from University of Michigan as well as a Master's. He married Joan Lucile Howlett on June 28, 1957, and they shared 64 happy years together until her passing in 2021. Richard had a successful engineering career, working in diverse areas such as the space program in Florida and product packaging engineering in Michigan. He was known for his good humor and dedication to family. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to “tinker” with electronics and mechanical things. He also enjoyed golfing and travelling in his retirement years. He is survived by his children, Robert (Andrea) and Karen Dunn (Bill), four grandchildren, Shannon Dunn Poplaski (Dave), Krista Dunn Bohn (Frank), Dylan Jones, and Aidan Jones, as well as five great-granddaughters. He is remembered as a devoted husband, a strong and loving father, and a good friend to all.
