Patrick Dale Cruse

Born on September 19, 1958, Patrick was the seventh child of Helen and Cecil Cruse. He grew up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, where he made lifelong friendships that endured for more than 60 years even after his move to Arizona in the late 1970s — a true testament to his loyalty, warmth, and generous spirit.

Patrick had a passion for speed including horses, snowmobiles, fast cars, motorcycles, ATVs and sand buggies, always seeking adventure and joy in the ride. He especially loved camping at the Dunes with his brother Charlie and other friends. His love for the open road also led him to work as a limousine driver, where he had the honor of driving many famous personalities. Patrick enlisted in the United States Navy and remained fiercely and proudly patriotic his entire life.

He worked in construction for many years and later partnered with his brother Charles and founded two successful businesses: Southwest Paving and Cruse Contracting. Patrick built not just strong roads and foundations, but strong relationships too — especially with those friends he played poker and pool with over many happy years.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Cruse and Helen Cruse, his sister-in-law, Julie Cruse, his nephews Nathaniel and Matthew Dahl and his niece Chesiree Cruse.

Patrick is survived by his siblings Cecilia Dahl (Alan), Rita Conrad (Curt), Frank Cruse, Michael Cruse (Tim Holland), Charles Cruse (Linda), Nora Cruse, and Jim Cruse; nine nieces and nephews; and countless friends. He was a constant source of smiles, laughter, and strength to all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Green Acres, 401 N Hayden Road, Scottsdale at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 2, 2025. All who knew and loved Patrick are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in his memory.

A memorial service for Patrick will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona 85257.
