The world is slightly diminished by the passing of, Patricia “Patti” McLaughlin, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. A homemaker until she was widowed at the age of 38, she worked at ASU for over 30 years in Residential Life. She was always a kind soul who thought of others before herself, she touched many lives with her kindness and generosity. In her professional life she won many awards and accolades, including the prestigious President’s Award of Merit from Arizona State University. Honored by all the awards she received, she was most pleased when she was able to assist, comfort, and resolve the problems of angry or flustered students and their parents. She is survived by her sons: Timothy, John, and Thomas (Tiddle); her grandson Cannon James Dall, her brother Eugene Sturla (Marsha), her bother-in-law, Thomas Cassatt, and dozens of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by; her husband John “Jack” McLaughlin, her daughter Cheryl Ann McLaughlin (Dall), and her sister Barbara Cassatt.
