Nancy was born Nancy Anne Neri on January 14, 1941 in Boston, Massachusetts to second generation Sicilian parents.
She was the oldest of three girls, with Patty as the middle child and Lorraine the youngest.
After graduating from Belmont High, she worked as a secretary at an engineering firm and met Dan Ryan; they were married in 1961.
They spent the next 4 years bringing 3 children into the world.
In 1969 they packed up their belongings and moved to Laveen, Arizona, where they would live on hard work and healthy food on their farm filled with goats, horses and chickens.
Although she left Arizona for a few short stints in the Midwest and the Northwest, she quickly returned to the Phoenix area and has lived primarily in Tempe and Scottsdale since 1982.
While in Arizona, Nancy excelled at paralegal work, volunteered at a local co-op and became active in modeling and dancing.
Later in life, she met Lee Damner and together they worked as private investigators and best friends to advocate for the wrongly accused, the underprivileged and the underserved.
Nancy is survived by her children. Her oldest son Joe lives in Alabama; her middle son John lives in Jemez Springs, New Mexico; and her youngest son Mike lives in Albuquerque, NM.
Nancy also leaves behind five grandchildren and a pesky dog named Buddha.
Family and friends were able to attend to her as she made the transition from this world to the next.
Love, honor, and blessings to Mom - we love you.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.greenacresmortuary.net for the Ryan family.
