Linda Hartrick

February 16, 1939 – November 24, 2017

Linda Marie Shuckhart was born in Casey, Iowa to parents H. Dale and Laura Shuckart on February 16, 1939. She and her brother Jack grew up in Casey with their parents. Linda went to University of Iowa and graduated with a degree in Interior Decorating. She married Don Schiller on December 27, 1959, and in 1967, they moved themselves and their 2 children (Jeff and Melanie) to Scottsdale, AZ. They got divorced around 1979, and in 1985 she married Alan Hartrick. Linda and Al lived together in Scottsdale until he passed away November 24, 2015.

Linda is survived by her son Jeff Schiller and his wife Carol, her daughter Melanie Kimball and her husband Randy, her grandchildren Bette Schiller and Michael Kimball, and her great-grandson Kody Mannheimer. She is also survived by her brother Jack, his wife Sue, their children Jason and Adam, and their sons and daughters.

Services will be held at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery in Scottsdale, AZ (in the Gazebo near the back of the park), on December 15th, 2017 at 1pm. Please bring your favorite “Linda” story to share with everyone.

Linda was an amazing person starting her own business in 1981, an accounting service for small businesses. She grew her business only by word of mouth and she had a thriving business for many years. Al was an Elk and then a Shriner and through their involvement in both lodges she was able to volunteer for many events and her generosity and loving nature helped her reach out and touch a lot of people. She was always there to lend a helping hand. Even after Al’s passing she still helped out in the Shrine Temple anyway she could, because that’s what she did.

In 1993, Linda attended the Citizens Police Academy of Scottsdale. One day she went on a ride along with the Scottsdale Police Department and she was hooked! She had so much fun with the people and the program that she started volunteering for CiPAAS (Citizens Police Academy Alumni of Scottsdale). She worked with 2 people that she spoke very highly of in the program, Chief Alan Rodbell and Chris Vassall. She was elected to the Board of Directors and started as their Treasurer in 2003, and was their treasurer until the day of her passing.

We were very blessed to have her in our lives, and she will be truly missed.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to either CiPAAS in Scottsdale, AZ or the El Zaribah Shrine Temple in Phoenix, AZ. These were her two favorite organizations that she spent most of her time on and it would make her smile.
