Leona "Toni" Louise Bentley, 90, of Paradise Valley, AZ, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 25th. Toni was born December 12, 1920 in Fayette, IL to John and Leah Koehl. She was one of nine children, five brothers and three sisters. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers John Koehl (Plainfield, IL), Elmer Koehl (Tempe, AZ), Sam Koehl (Fairbury, IL), and sisters Esther Hodel (Cissna Park, IL), Lydia Eisenman (Cissna Park, IL), and Ruth Vaughn (Phoenix, AZ). Toni married Kenneth Bentley on January 18th, 1942. Toni and Kenny moved to Tempe, AZ in 1961 with their two daughters, Sheri and Mary. Just a few days after moving to Arizona, she went to work for Smitty’s Big Town where she worked for 27 years. Ken and Toni divorced in 1969 and Toni never remarried. After her sister Ruth’s husband died, the two sisters moved in together (1975) and lived together for over 30 years. They were best friends. Toni was a long time member of the Apostolic Christian Church. She is survived by her brothers Dick Koehl (Fairbury, IL) and Dean Koehl (Tunnell Hill, GA), her daughters Sheri French (Larry) of Farmington, NM and Mary Williams (Bobby) of Scottsdale, AZ, her grandchildren, Mitchell French (Melissa) of Tucson, AZ, Kristen French of Tucson, AZ, Ashley Zettler of Scottsdale, AZ and Brian Zettler (Tiffany) of Phoenix, AZ, and great grandchildren, Lauren Palma, Tyler Norton and Lily Ann French of Tucson, AZ. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30th at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ with funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1st at the Apostolic Christian Church, 9230 North 26th Street, Phoenix, AZ. Burial will take place at 12 noon at Green Acres Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to The Apostolic Christian Church.
