It was an honor to share the last moments of this wonderful woman's life.  Karen was a ray of sunshine, always laughing, never critical or complaining.  She had lovely hands and they were constantly busy creating a beautiful and welcoming environment.  She was a master gardener and an accomplished artist.  Her home was her canvas and with every stroke of her hand she created a masterpiece.  Each little treasure, tucked away in every nook and cranny, told a story.  She was a great cook and we enjoyed many meals at their cabin.

Frank was the love of her life and she was so proud of his accomplishments.  She glowed with pride when showing pictures of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  They were such a joy to her.

She is truly missed.  Our heartfelt sympathy to all her family and friends.
May you look to God for peace and comfort and find joy in happy memories.

We were friends through the Early Ford V/8 Club Phoenix Chapter and appreciated their hospitality at their home just last year for a meeting. We met Frank and Karen through the SWSR Phoenix Car Club. What a wonderful couple! It was obvious they both truly enjoyed their lives together. Her warm smile and kindness will be remembered and missed.  Our condolences to Frank and the whole family.

Karen was my aunt and many fond memories of her taking care of me and spending time with the Pittenger family. We are heartbroken and at such a loss.  We know she is in heaven and surrounded by angels.

The fondest memory of Karen that I will hold dear to my heart is my interview with her and Frank to be spotlighted in this year's annual White Mountain Cruizer book. They were both humbled and excited to share the joys they experienced together with their cars and family over the years. Frank would start a story and Karen would finish it.  They travelled their wonderful journey in life all over again, both of them laughing while looking at one another as they shared their stories. 
Just two days before the accident they came to my home to review and approve the finished story that went along with their pictures.  Karen sat at my computer and read each line to Frank.  It was so sweet to watch them relive those happy memories once again.  After Frank made some technical corrections to the car details, both approved.
I never heard Karen speak an unkind word about anyone.  She always had a big smile on her face.  Karen adored Frank and loved their family.  Karen has been a great example to us all- she will be missed by many.

I saw Karen that day as the car club was gathering for a group drive.  She saw me from across the parking lot - waved hello and gave me warm hug.  We then talked about how her garden was growing.  That is my fond memory of this loving person, always taking time to give another a smile.
