John was born to James and Mary Davidson in South Dakota. He is survived by his four children: Nancy of Phoenix, Mary of Waddell, James of Flagstaff, and John of Thailand, as well as 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
John married Ellen Stangeland in 1950 and was married for 48 years until Ellen's passing on Jan 31, 1999. He later found a friend and companion in "Kitty" for the remainder of his life.
John served in the Navy for a short time and obtained his Electrical Engineering Degree from South Dakota State University. He worked for Bendix in York, Pennsylvania until moving to Arizona in 1962 where he managed the Fuze and Tactical Engineering Department at Motorola for 25 years, retiring at the age of 62.
John enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and camping with his family and lifelong friends. John also enjoyed spending time in the cabins he built in the mountains of Arizona, and his home at Lake Miltona, Minnesota.
John was a positive thinker who believed there was never a problem that could not be solved. He always chose the right path no matter how difficult. John had a quick wit, a great sense of humor, and always saw the best in people. He was very bright, a wonderful teacher, and always willing to share his knowledge. He was a very generous, honest, resourceful, and humble man and was always willing to help. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He leaves a legacy that includes a loving family and friends.
