Joan was born in Chicago, Illinois but spent most of her life in Alabama as a seamstress and cheering on her Crimson Tide. She was lovingly known as “Aunt Joan” to many and loved by all. Joan was an avid puzzle book and word search wizard and loved her game shows. Joan had many pets throughout her life and especially loved her cats while living in Arizona.
Joan was predeceased by her husband Oscar, her mother Marie, father Jerry, stepmother Mildred and sister Janet. Joan is survived by her sister Darlene, her stepchildren Jack and Donna, her many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and her best friend Renee.
A graveside service, in Joan’s honor, will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2019 10:30AM at Green Acres Cemetery (401 N Hayden Rd Scottsdale, AZ 85257).
In lieu of flowers donations to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the Arizona Animal Welfare League in memory of Joan Lawson.
