the Valley, Scottsdale, AZ after a long fight with dementia, and suffered blindness from Macular degeneration and glaucoma.
She was born in Cologne, Germany on August 11, 1933, an only child, to Alfred and Kathe Krefft.
During the war, she lived in Bavaria, Germany with a family whom she stayed close with her entire life.
She married the love of her life, Bruno E. Urban in September 1955, who preceded her in death in 2006.
She was a homemaker and also worked part-time as a bookkeeper for her husband's manufacturing plant, Coirtex, in Chicago.They retired to Fountain Hills, Arizona in 1994.
She was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her final days were spent surrounded by family.
She is survived by her daughter Doris Trojan and her husband Frank Trojan, her son Richard Urban, her grandchildren Matt Trojan and his wife Ashley,
Melissa Malone, Ryan Urban, and Zachary Urban, her great-grandchildren Jaiden McDaniel, Xander Trojan, Skylar Trojan, Logan Malone and Amaya Malone.
Irene enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling the world, playing bridge, golfing and socializing with her many friends and was active in the Fountain Hills German Club.
In her later years she also enjoyed volunteering at Honor Health Hospital, visiting and helping the elderly in need.
She will be so missed by her family and all of those in her community that she touched in one way or another with her adventurous spirit, sweet nature, fun personality and generosity.
