Gilbert S. Guerra, Sr., 85, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2021, with family by his side. Gilbert was one of ten children born to Petra and John Guerra, Sr. Born in Hayden, Arizona he resided in the valley for most of his life. He worked for Western Union for 32 years, starting as a bicycle messenger and ending as a sales representative. He then went to work for West Coast Terminals (Office Mart), managing the Arizona office for 23 years. Gil's favorite pastime was landscaping, caring for his own property as well as any family member who needed his help. Also, he enjoyed visits to the family cabin in Forest Lakes. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diane, his children Gilbert Guerra, Jr. and Patricia Perez (Danny), 5 grandchildren, 4 brothers, 5 sisters as well as great-grandchildren and a very large extended family. Friends may call 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona 85257, where services will be held at 10:00 AM.
