Georgia Leah (Zishka) Huemoeller of Tempe, AZ entered her Heavenly Home on April 19, 2016 surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born to George and Minnie Zishka on September 17, 1939 in Spencer, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at First English Lutheran Church in Spencer, Iowa. She grew up on the family farm 2.5 miles west of Fostoria, Iowa and attended her first years in Summit No. 2 Country School. Georgia graduated from Spencer High School in 1957 (Go Tigers!) and completed college in Mankato, Minnesota. She relocated to Phoenix, Arizona in the early 1960's, after she married Robert Huemoeller and was blessed with three lovely children: Jeff, Lisa, and Heidi. She worked as a Legal Secretary for years and was a member of Christ Church Lutheran, where Jeff, Lisa and Heidi were baptized. On Christmas Eve 1975, Georgia had a serious brain aneurysm requiring surgery that kept her in the hospital and under therapy for a year, leaving her handicapped. After that year she moved to Tempe, AZ to begin her journey back to health. Things improved and she was able to enjoy some of her favorite thing like social activities in her church and attending the sports she loved. Many ASU Basketball and Football games were highlights with friends and family. Georgia returned to work as a volunteer at Tempe St. Luke's Hospital for over 20 years. She assisted in the Medical Records Department. In 1985 she was honored with the “Volunteer of the Year Award”! Georgia was a proud member of the “Red Hat” organization. Many friends and associates will surely miss her beautiful smile. Georgia was also able to attend Jeff and Dori's wedding in Minnesota. She enjoyed the visits from her children and their spouses. She was a very proud grandmother of Andrew, Ella, Tate and Joe. She cherished seeing and hearing from her many friends. A special highlight was listening to favorite Hymns in the Chapel. Although she is an Angel in her Heavenly Home, she will be missed by many. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Minnie Zishka.
