Don was born on October 28th, 1935, in Springfield, Illinois to Stephen and Mary Nemeth, along with two brothers, Len and Larry, and two sisters, Dorothy and Virginia. He graduated college and entered into the Air Force. In 1956, he survived the crash of military transport plane that altered the course of his life and began his exit out of the service. He then entered back into mainstream life and worked at Motorola, and during that time he met a cute young secretary. On April 23rd, 1960 he married his “blue-eyed, blonde-haired sweetheart”, Paula Jean Morris. They raised two sons, Dwayne and Doug, and one daughter, Deanne. In 1972, after he and his wife had an encounter with The Presence of God, he devoted his life to the ministry and began spreading the word about Jesus. Don was a pastor of several churches over the years. He was a teacher, author, and devoted counselor to many, focused around marriage and grief. He enjoyed taking long solo drives, reading and was an avid fan of golf in his spare time. He was widely appreciated for his wise and effective counsel. His life’s passion was to see the “Grace of God move and do amazing miracles in people’s lives.”
He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen, and his mother, Mary, his beloved life partner, Paula, his two sisters Dorothy and Virginia, and his younger brother, Larry. He is survived by his oldest brother Len, his three children, Dwayne, Dee, and Doug, along with his grandchildren, TJ, Amanda, Daniel, Ian, Phillip, Stephanie, Ryleigh, and his great grandchildren, Kylee, Avery, Pyper, Bishop, Eloise, Maverick, and many more to come.
Visitation will be held on February 12, 2021 at 10:00 am at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ. Graveside Service will be held on February 12, 2021 at 11:00 am at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ.
