Delbert R. Hall, 93, of Paradise Valley, Arizona, passed away on Thursday, May 8th. He was born to Carey and Alice Hall, February 28, 1921, in Coffeyville, Kansas. Delbert graduated from San Diego High School in 1939 and in 1942 married the late Florence Hall. Together they lived in San Diego, Garden Grove and El Cajon, California before relocating to Phoenix, Arizona. Delbert served in the Navy from 1942-1944 and was enrolled in the Berean Bible institute in 1945. Ordained as a minister with the Pentecostal Church and Assemblies of God, he and Florence traveled across the country as musical evangelists and served together as missionaries in the Philippines and West Indies. For many years he directed Missionary Food Bank and volunteered his ministerial services in Phoenix shelters. He was open-handed to those in need and was an example of love, forgiveness and childlike faith in the love of God.
Delbert played many instruments, such as the double-belled euphonium and was often accompanied by Florence on the piano, vibraharp and organ. He loved to spend time in his yard, planting and cultivating flowers, fruit trees and vegetables. Delbert is survived by three children: Gloria Harmon of Ventura, California; Daniel Hall, of Gresham, Oregon; and Alice Van Arsdall, of Scottsdale, Arizona. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Green Acres on Wednesday, May 14th at 2:30pm. 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona. www.greenacresmortuary.net
