Cordelia "Dee" Smith, a long time Phoenix resident, passed away March 19th, 2014 with her family nearby. Born in Bishopville, Maryland on April 24th, 1914, Cordelia would have turned 100 years old next month. We were all so looking forward to celebrating with her, but now we will have to celebrate her life after the fact. Moving to Arizona in 1956, Cordelia was a cosmotologist throughout her life until she retired to travel with her husband in their motorhome. Cordelia was a member of the Eastern Star and the Methodist Church. Cordelia is survived by her two sons, Donald and Kendall; daughter-in-law, Marilyn; grandchildren, Cory, Damian, Stacey, and Steven; and ten great-grandchildren. Both the viewing on March 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and the funeral service/reception on March 29th at noon, will be held at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona.
