She was born Sunday morning September 25, 1960 at 9:45 in the morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Welcoming her into the world that morning was her parents Nelson and Peggy Scarbrough, grandparents Neil and Pauling Peacock, aunt Gladys Hilliard. Waiting at home to meet her was her new aunt Wanda Peacock, and her great-grandparents Amos and Lora Dell Rodgers. She was a first child, a first grandchild, a first great-grandchild, and a first niece. Brenda was a native Arizonan, attending grade school in the Sunnyslope and Glendale area. She attended and graduated from Apollo High School. She then went into the Army. After release from the Army she came home and went to work at Sperry/Honeywell for ten years, and did the US Census in the 90’s, then worked for Vantage Man for several months. She was then diagnosed and became disabled Brenda had one child, Justin. Brenda volunteered and worked twice a week for many years at the operation CARE which is a small food and clothing bank. Brenda had both mental health issues and alcoholism. She overcame the alcoholism but mental health issues and pain medication issues were something she could not overcome. She was a warm and caring person. As she aged her both mental and physical issues caused her demise. Her body wore out. She stopped being in pain when she passed on Monday the 17th of November, 2014. She was alone at her apartment when she passed but all those who saw her into this word (with the acceptation of her mother, younger brother, and aunt) are waiting for her to make a new appearance to their world. Her mother Peggy Spoonamore, stepfather Stephen Spoonamore and younger Brother Kevin Scarbrough his wife Shawana, and her niece and nephew, and other family members will have to wait to see her again. But all miss her in our world now. Visitation will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, November 28, 2014 with Funeral Service to follow at 2:30 PM in Green Acres Chapel of Light located at 401 N. Hayden Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85257.
