Brandon was a natural athlete from a young age and loved to study any sport prior to and while playing. As a teenager, he especially enjoyed baseball and football. He attended Horizon High School where he was a cornerback on the varsity football team. His parents spent many hours supporting his passion and cheering him on.
From his early childhood he loved to take things apart and fix them and he earned the family nickname “Handy Roy”. It wasn’t surprising that Brandon went on to graduate from The Refrigeration School in Phoenix and he spent the past 4 years as a HVAC technician, installing and servicing heating and cooling systems.
Brandon’s second home was Filiberto’s. He LOVED Mexican food which brought him comfort almost every day.
Like his father, Brandon enjoyed the thrill of a fast motorcycle and spent many hours tinkering and riding. He loved to ride and enjoy our beautiful state with his dad and others.
He loved animals, and especially his dogs, Leeya and Remy, who were his loyal and loving companions for several years and who will greatly miss him.
Brandon was loved so very much and will be missed by many. He was gentle, sensitive, funny and when you got him one on one....boy could he talk!
Brandon was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Dahl Holmes and his grandmother Maureen Vensel. Survivors include his father Gordon, Phoenix, his sister Kylee Holmes, Phoenix, grandparents Richard and Bonnie Dahl, Surprise, AZ and Gordon Holmes, Sr. Mesa, AZ. Uncles and aunts: Patrick Holmes, Scottsdale, AZ, Susan Holmes, Scottsdale, AZ, JoAnne Buchan (Nigel), Fountain Hills, AZ, Janet Cannella (John), Kari Price (Jon}, Scottsdale, Michael (Beth) Dahl, Mansfield, TX and numerous cousins. He is also survived by Maddy Chamerski, a very close friend who showed her love for him in so many ways the past few years.
Brandon had a strong faith in God and attended Dream City Church. He demonstrated his faith a few years ago when he walked with a companion from the Phoenix Dream Center to Tucson while pulling a large cross nearly 100 miles. His love for Christ was also shown by the cross he recently had tattooed on top of a finger.
