Betty was born on October 11, 1927 to Ehrling and Margaret Olson in Superior, Wisconsin. After obtaining an undergraduate degree in Psychology, she went on to the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated with a Master’s in Social Work. She spent her career devoted to caring for others through her social work and spent much of her time serving families on the Indian reservations in the Phoenix area.
Betty enjoyed traveling the world. In addition to the many countries she visited, she traveled often to Norway and Scotland to visit relatives and stay close with her cherished Norwegian roots. She reflected often on her travels to Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and many countries across Europe. Alaska, Caribbean and Norwegian cruises were also amongst her list of favorite trips. She was vibrant, social and always on-the-go. She lived a long and full life.
Betty was preceded in death by her son Rodney, brother Gordon and sister-in-law Helen. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Elizabeth; grandchildren Hannah and Erik, and extended family and friends.
We loved her deeply and she will always be a part of us.
