Barbara Green, a dedicated and tenacious woman, who devoted her life to healing, passed away peacefully on the morning of Christmas Day, 2023. Her unwavering spirit and commitment to others left an enduring mark on the hearts of those who knew her.
Barbara, a proud alumna of Arizona State University in Phoenix, graduated with a Bachelor's in Science of Nursing. This marked the beginning of a career that would define her legacy as a compassionate and dedicated nurse.
Her calling led her to Maricopa County Hospital, where she specialized in the burn unit. Her role was more than a profession; it was a calling she embraced wholeheartedly. Barbara's commitment to her patients went beyond the call of duty. She was a beacon of comfort in the most challenging times, offering solace and care to those in the most vulnerable states. Her colleagues admired her dedication, and her patients were not just recipients of medical attention but also of genuine compassion.
Beyond the hospital walls, Barbara extended her caring nature to others in need. Her innate ability to provide comfort and guidance made her a trusted source of support for friends and family alike. Barbara's knowledge and empathy were invaluable. She touched countless lives with her healing words and actions.
Barbara was a force to be reckoned with. She approached life with determination. This resilience and fierce spirit were not only admirable but also served as a source of inspiration for those fortunate enough to be a part of her life.
Barbara is survived by her mother, Madeline, her son, Eaan (Amanda), and her three cherished grandchildren, Jourdan, Layla, and Ryan. She leaves behind her brother Larry, and her sisters Elaine (Steve) and Sandra (Lance). Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Frederick Boughton, and her husband, Juan Green. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews, who will carry forward her legacy of strength and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara’s memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Foundation - Sisters of Mercy and the Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
A celebration of Barbara's remarkable life will be held on January 4th at 2 pm at Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring her memory. The family appreciates the support and love extended during this challenging time.
