Barbara was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma January 23, 1940. Barbara grew up in the Phoenix area
but resided in Scottsdale for the past 30 years. She is preceded by her Mother Lucille Gibson and Father Amos Percy Gibson, her 6 brothers and 3 sisters, her husband George Gonzales and son George Gonzales Jr. She is survived by daughter Vicki L. Gonzales and son David Michael Gonzales, 11 Grandchildren, and 14 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild along with extended family members.
Barbara was a good daughter, sister, wife and mother and even better grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with all her heart.
They kept her young at heart and she loved going to their birthday parties, graduations and to celebrate their milestones in life. She loved watching them play sports, music, theater, etc. They were a joy to her and she was happy to hear what they were up to next.
Barbara was a hard worker and worked over 26 years for Motorola. She hardly missed a day of work only when it was due to illness or a death. She would like to garden in her spare time. She had rose bushes she would plant and tend to and enjoyed watching them bloom. She was a homebody and didn’t venture out much, she was a very private person and didn’t get in anyone’s business
unless they brought it to her doorstep. Barbara would not mince words if asked a question. She told the truth and would do anything for her family. She was known for her no nonsense attitude, but she did enjoy laughing and playing with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Barbara was a very strong willed person, no matter what life’s trials and tribulations came her way she would endure and carry on. She was the rock to her children and to some grandchildren, and sometimes the only person you knew you could depend on, no matter the circumstance. She loved all of her family and was happy to participate in their lives. She lived her life with grace and a good conscience.
She was a strikingly beautiful woman and never did she flaunt her beauty, it was just natural.
She believed in the word of God and knew there was an eternity that she would be spending
with loved ones passed on. We are blessed to have had her in our lives, she definitely will be missed and always in our hearts.
