Anthony Vandiver Page (Tony), son of Robert G. and Florence L. Page and brother of Penelope Page Spencer, passed away suddenly on July 23 in Scottsdale, Arizona. For those who knew and loved him, Tony left us way too soon, having just turned 66. However, we know that his life was well lived, espousing passion, intention and a strong sense of doing what was right. We will miss him deeply.
Tony was born in Los Angeles, CA on June 27, 1956. The Page family, including his Dad “Pagie”, his Mom “Skippy”, Penny and Tony lived in many places across the US and Europe including Limerick, IR, London, UK, Providence and Newport, RI and Long Meadow, MA. Their single constant home throughout was Wellfleet, MA where they spent summers since 1965. Tony considered Wellfleet and the Boston metro area his hometown. He was an avid Red Sox fan, a skilled oyster shucker, and fluent in the art of debating politics. Tony attended boarding school at Suffield Academy in Connecticut where he graduated in 1974. He attended college at Marietta College and Boston College and graduated with a BA in History in 1978. After living in Naples, FL for a brief time, in 1979 Tony was accepted to General Electric’s Technical Sales Program where he held several sales and marketing positions. He left GE to join Hoffman Engineering in Minneapolis as their first ever Director of Marketing. Three years later GE recruited Tony back in an executive sales management position. In July of 1998, Tony, along with his longtime friend and business colleague, George Jopp, started their own Manufacturers Rep business based in Phoenix, AZ. Tony and George created Southwest Electrical Group, Inc, (SEGI) and quickly turned it into a leading brand servicing the Mountain states region of AZ, NV, NM, WY and CO. SEGI continues to thrive today.
Tony is survived by his sister Penny, niece Suzy, nephew Nick, Nick’s children Jonny and Giuliana and his lovable dogs Rose and Hack, along with many close friends and extended family who will miss him beyond measure.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 21 in Scottsdale from 2-6 pm. For catering purposes, please RSVP at Celebrate Tony (link below)
