Alan T. Oppenheim, 57, passed away on April 21, 2012 at his home in Tempe, Arizona. Alan was born January 14, 1955 in Tucson, Arizona, the son of Mathew and Evelyn Oppenheim, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey K. Oppenheim, 21 and PFC David L. Oppenheim, 20, USMC. He is also survived by his brother Don Oppenheim of Phoenix, Ilyce Henry of Tucson, his nephew, Ryan Oppenheim, niece and her husband Stephanie and Mark Inskeep.
Above all, Alan was a devoted and loving father to Jeffrey and David. He was passionate about being involved with them in every way. From going paintballing to playing in the Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Bowl with his sons he was there. He enjoyed rollerblading, especially his Sunday morning blading with his friend David K.
Alan graduated from the University of Arizona with a Masters Degree in Public Administration with a Certificate in Long Term Care. He dedicated his career to the care and well being of the elderly. His career began in the Nursing Home and Assisted Living Industry. At the time of his passing he was the Acting Assistant Director for the Division of Licensing Services for the Arizona Department of Health Services.
Friends and family are welcome to attend a memorial service on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 2:30pm at Green Acres Mortuary, located at 401 N. Hayden, Scottsdale, AZ 85257. A celebration of Alan’s life will be held directly after the memorial service. Information on the location will be available at the memorial service.
