Bill was born on August 12, 1931 to William F. Enderle and Emma (Harms) Enderle at Henderson NE. He was the twelfth of thirteen children. Bill was educated in country schools and graduated from Cairo High School in Cairo NE. He married Imogene Orndoff in 1950. She passed away in 1989.
Bill had many jobs during his lifetime. In1948-49 he worked for the State of Nebraska Department of Roads, driving a snowplow during the blizzard of 1949. He worked as a lineman for the Union Pacific Railroad, then he worked for Rainbow Bread Co. in eastern Nebraska and Iowa, and later he worked for Kraft Foods, then Allen Foods selling food to schools and institutions with a route in Kansas, Nebraska and South Dakota. He completed his working career as office manager and salesman for Prudential Insurance Company in Scottsbluff NE.
During his younger years, Bill played baseball at both semi-professional and professional levels. He was the left-handed pitcher for many town teams between Aurora NE and Ogden UT, where his job with the railroad ended. He signed to pitch for the Ogden Reds, a farm team for the Cincinnati Reds. When the team disbanded he returned to Nebraska to work and raise his family with Imogene.
After moving to Scottsbluff in 1982, Bill became involved in community activities that interested him. He raised money for charitable groups and participated in the Mexico Mission sponsored by the Hull and Scottsbluff United Methodist Churches for 15 years. He was one of the founding board members of Scotts Bluff County Habitat for Humanity and helped build 10 homes. Bill enjoyed ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at Christmas time. He participated in the activities of the United Methodist Men until a massive stroke ended his ability to participate in social situations.
Bill met and married Carol Preston in 1990. Bill was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his funny stories. He was playful and loved being around his family, especially his grandchildren. In his later years he enjoyed traveling and camping with Carol.
