Sherri was born to Harry and Teresa (Grosso) Lynn on May 15, 1959 in Scottsbluff. Growing up, Sherri was an active member of the Camp Fire Girls, even serving as president of her chapter, as well as an avid dancer at the Iris Besaw School of Dance. In 1975, Sherri served on the Program and Studies Committee to help an effort to improve the Scottsbluff Public Schools system. Sherri graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1977. She then attended Nebraska Western College and earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1979. Following graduation, Sherri found employment as a bank teller for several years. She then moved to Aurora, CO, where Sherri was employed by the US Air Force as a retirement and pension specialist at Lowry Air Force Base until its closing in 1994. Sherri then returned to Scottsbluff to become a caretaker for her parents, a role she cherished until her passing. In her free time, Sherri volunteered at the Panhandle Humane Society and volunteered to read books to children in the PCS Community Health Clinic waiting room.
Throughout her adult life, Sherri loved and cared for her fur-babies: Sammie Sue, Endora, and Sadie. Her animals brought her joy and happiness. While Sherri did not have any biological children, her niece, Alexis, was like a daughter to her, and her family friend, Angel Rodriguez, was like a son. Sherri spoiled her great nephews (Maverick, Mylo, and Theodore) every chance she could and took great pride in them.
Sherri never met a stranger, and she could light up a room with her witty sense of humor. She had a joke ready for every occasion, and her laugh was infectious. She was full of life and was almost always the life of the party. Sherri loved to make a fashion statement and could be seen around town rocking bright colors, animal prints, and a new hairdo. She drove a Volkswagen Bug, which seemed like an extension of her personality with eyelashes, butterflies, and flower decorations adorned.
Sherri is predeceased by her parents, father Harry L. Lynn, Jr., whom she passed alongside, and mother, Teresa; brother Harry L. Lynn III; and her beloved pets.
Sherri is survived by her brother, Kenneth (Jaci) Lynn of Scottsbluff; niece, Alexis (Matthew) Mickey and great nephews Maverick, Mylo, and Theodore of San Diego, CA; nephew Jas White of Fort Collins, CO; niece Ashleigh (Candon) Ehler and great nephews Behr, Dash, Parker, and Flintt of Ocala, FL; nephew Chance (Cassidy) White and great nephew Arthur of Scottsbluff; nephew Harry IV (Lauren) Lynn and great nieces Isabel and Eliza of Lynchburg, VA; and niece Jessie (Morgan) Wright and great nieces Hallie and Harper of Lynchburg, VA.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Grace Chapel in Scottsbluff. Following lunch, a procession will lead to the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery in Alliance for a graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests cards and donations to the local Humane Society in her honor. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com. Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
