Renee was born on June 7, 1964 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Robert and Peggy Knaub. She grew up on the family farm outside of Gering and graduated from Gering High School in 1982. She married Rodney Kent Lewandowski on December 15, 1984 in Mitchell, Nebraska. While residing in Gering, they were blessed with two daughters, Jamie and Krissa. Prior to retirement, Renee served as the Secretary for the Gering Public Schools Activities Director for 23 years. During retirement, Renee enjoyed caring for her grandchildren Quinn and Callen Hutchison and Milo Glaubius.
Renee could be found working in the garden, crafting, and doing daily devotions. Renee was known for her generous spirit, selfless devotion to her family, and determination. She was a loyal friend and fun-loving grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Rodney Lewandowski; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Jon Hutchison; daughter and son-in-law, Krissa and Zachary Glaubius; grandchildren, Quinn and Callen Hutchison, and Milo Glaubius; sister, Anita Grubbs; brother-in-law, Randy Nation; sister-in-law, Sandy Knaub; father-in-law, Alfred Lewandowski; brothers-in-law and their spouses, Randy and Tina Lewandowski, Robert and Debra Lewandowski, Ronald and Stacy Lewandowski; sister-in-law and spouse, Mary and John Schneider; and many nieces and nephews.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Peggy Knaub; siblings, Bobby Knaub, Pamela Nation, and Phillip Knaub; mother-in-law, Dorothy Lewandowski; and niece, Ashton Schlenker.
The visitation will be held at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home in Scottsbluff on Friday April, 28th from 12-4 PM. Renee had a devotion to the Blessed Mother; please join us for a rosary at Christ the King Catholic Church in Gering on Friday April, 28th at 6:30 PM. A prayerful celebration of her life will be held at Christ the King Church on Saturday, April 29th at 10:30 AM; burial service to follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering.
