Patricia D. Smith, 68, of Gering, NE, died Sept. 29, 2010, at home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Gary Cole officiating. Pat requested casual dress at her funeral. Cremation will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. Friends may call at the funeral home between 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Saturday. A memorial has been established to “Ally’s House”, Oklahoma City, OK Patricia was born Dec. 25, 1941, in Council Bluffs, IA, the daughter of the late Wilbur & Viola (Schnepel) Wilson. She was 1 of 3 children with Bill & the late Windy Wilson. She attended Grade School & Jr. High in Council Bluffs, IA & High School in Scottsbluff, NE. On May 28, 1961, she married C. Richard ""Dick"" Smith, who survives; to this union 5 children were born. Over the years she worked for Bartlett's Grocery, McCosh Drug, Lee's Catering & most recently K-Mart until her surgical paralysis in August of 2002 forced to her to be at home. She will always be remembered for her quick wit & independent personality. She never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh.....even if was at themselves. She was a ""huge"" Toby Keith fan and enjoyed being in contact on the internet with other Toby Keith ""fans"" and her FB game buddies. She loved a practical joke even if it was on her. She is survived by her husband, Dick of Gering, son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Soni Smith of Gering; son Michael (Troy) Smith and Tammie Boxberger of Kersey, CO, daughter, Anne Stack of Mesa, AZ, grandchildren, Derek A. Smith & Anee Fullerton of Longmont, CO; Nicole E. (Nikki) Smith of Gering; Jordyn, Kiley, Danica & Kellen Smith of Yerington, NV; Zac Vlahos of Mesa, AZ & Kara Mikulas of Mesa, AZ; brother and wife, Bill & Donna Wilson of KS; aunt Velma Schnepel of Scottsbluff; mother-in-law Betty Smith of Scottsbluff; brother-in-law and wife, Bob & Sally Smith of CO; sister-in-law and husband, Jane & Jeff Collins of IN; former brother-in-law, Dan Schwartzkopf of Torrington; nieces, Shannon Gomez, Danielle Wondercheck, Cyndi Harper and Tammy DeBaere and nephews, Scott Wilson, Jim, John, & Mike Wilson, Jamie Schwartzkopf and great nieces and great nephews; special friend Jan Libsack; FB friends LeeAnn, Debbie, and Lynda.
