Pat Ramsey, age 74, a lifelong resident of Scottsbluff, was received by her Lord and Savior on April 11, 2023. Pat’s parents were James and Donna Jane (Gassner) Truax, also of Scottsbluff. She grew up in the Bryant Avenue neighborhood where she met many friends that were by her side throughout her life. Pat graduated from Scottsbluff High School with honors in 1967 and married Dan Ramsey, Jr. on February 27, 1971. After graduating from West Nebraska School of Nursing she spent her career in several nursing-related professions and interacted with many people in the community. Her career included Industrial Nursing, Drug Prevention at the Substance Abuse Council, and Community Health clinics, to name a few.
Pat tried to live out her Christian beliefs in her service to others. She and Dan fostered 5 children and 1 exchange student, and they always welcomed people into their home. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and friends. The Ramsey house was a place where you would be handed a plate of food and maybe a kitten, and then invited to sit and laugh. She was an avid gardener and even won the Golden Spade Award in 2001. She loved nature, especially birds. Her other hobbies included reading, knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, Nebraska football, and listening to music.
She is survived by her children, Dave (Sheila) Beck of Clarks, NE, Jim (Carla) Ramsey of Aurora, CO, Sarah (Lee) Pinet of Scottsbluff, William (Heather) Ramsey of Kansas City, MO, and Sebastien Boon of Monaco. Her grandchildren include: Kyle (Katelyn) Beck, Rachel Beck, Kolby Beck, Alex Ramsey, Victoria Branco, Dani Pinet, Grant Pinet, Neal Pinet, Giovanni Ramsey, Leonidas Ramsey, and great grandchildren Kimber Beck and Aria Jensen. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Allyson Schuur; her Aunt, Linda Goff; cousins, Steve Goff and Susan Bourque; nieces, Christie Moran, Kethera Moran, Emily Genz, and Katy Cook; and her sister-in-law, Jane Moran. Lastly, her dog, Toby, and her cats, Ginger, Ashes, and Smoochie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers-in-law (Vern & John) and sister-in-law (Susan).
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church in Scottsbluff. The service will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend. Donations can be made to Lied Scottsbluff Public Library or the Panhandle Humane Society. Fond memories and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dugankramer.com
Pat will forever be greatly missed by all she came in contact with (humans and animals alike).
